Jeremiah 49

Jeremiah 49:35-39: Read 06.16.2025.Mon. Links: https://coffeejournalingprayer.blogspot.com/2025/06/are-we-living-days-of-jeremiah-4935-39.html

Are we living the days of Jeremiah 49:35-39?

Are we? Are we seeing biblical prophecy fulfilled in our world right now? Stay tuned.

Adonai is the God of Israel! He lives!

Glory!  I was in the middle of journaling this: https://coffeejournalingprayer.blogspot.com/2025/06/1-kings-17.html ... when a missile attack was conducted by Iran. I didn't type this, but thought it about thwarting the attack of the enemy: That the missiles are stopped and if not, that they landed in empty fields, and save Israel some ammunition/defense supplies (not sure what to call it). Well, the prayers worked, hallelujah! The three landed in areas of open land.  And 1 Kings 17:1 that points out how He's Adonai God of Israel and lives! Thank You, Lord, for the answered prayer! Prayer: Father, Maker of the Universe, help people all across the world notice how well You are taking care of Your people, Israel. You live and answer prayer! And You are real. To You alone be the glory, honor, and praise.

1 Kings 16

1 Kings 16: Read 06.15.2025.Sun. King Ahab is in this chapter. He is the one who did more evil than everyone that lived before him. The word used here is actually: "All." He did more evil than everyone, all people, before him. I cannot imagine to have that said of me... and to have it in the Bible where it will be read for thousands of years by billions of people. I also cannot help but take notice how no one before him was as evil as he. Have we had people more evil than him since? And if so, how many? Are any living now? Prayer: Adonai, Most High, Eternal One, if there is anyone evil like Ahab today, expose them.  Prayer: Lord, tell us who You consider evil in this world and help us to pray about them. Prayer: If there is anything evil in us, expose it and eliminate it. 1 Kings 16:34 mentions setting up gates. Links: https://coffeejournalingprayer.blogspot.com/2025/06/elijah.html

Elijah

Elijah first appears in 1 Kings 17:1 in the Word. He lives in Gilead and is a Tishbite. 1 Kings 17 opens in the middle of a scene. Things are in motion and taking place. Elijah is addressing King Ahab, King of Israel. Who is Ahab? We learn in 1 Kings 16 how he was the most evil man to that point in history. This is the man Elijah addressed here in 1 Kings 17.  Links: https://coffeejournalingprayer.blogspot.com/2025/06/1-kings-16.html https://coffeejournalingprayer.blogspot.com/2025/06/1-kings-17.html https://coffeejournalingprayer.blogspot.com/2025/06/1-kings-18.html https://coffeejournalingprayer.blogspot.com/2025/06/1-kings-19.html

Getting sidetracked

How many times am I going to get sidetracked? Not stay on task? Not do what Adonai tells me to do? Too many times is the answer. This has been my life. So much so that it's a lifestyle. And this means, I sin.  Falling short of the will of God is sin. Not doing what He says is a sin.  I hope to stay on task this time. He has asked me to pray and to use the Word to pray. Hence, I am to pray through His Word, the Bible. Only it is more than that. As I read through the Bible in a year, whatever that day's reading is, I am supposed to use it to pray for whatever He ahs put on my heart. I hope to do this and stick with it. This means this is what I will focus on in this blog journal.  Prayer: Abba, help me do what You say.

Colossians 2

 Colossians 2: Read 06.16.2025.Mon

1 Kings 17

1 Kings 17: Read 06.16.2025.Mon. A chapter about Elijah, King Ahab of Israel, Adonai, no rain, ravens, a widow, and the resurrection of her son.  It's a chapter where according to people and earthly standards, many unusual things happen here and are instructed by Adonai. (For example: Ravens feeding Elijah for three years or so.) Elijah first appears in this chapter and in 1 Kings 17:1. In verse 1, we learn a great deal about Elijah (see the link below). But we also learn something important here. Of all the names and characteristics of Adonai that Elijah could use, he uses one that was very important in this scene, but is also important today: Adonai God of Israel. And Elijah tops that. He says how Adonai God of Israel lives. Present tense. Active tense. Adonai lives. This reminds me of a showdown in the wild west. I hear the music in the background: Duh-duh-DUH! Let's not overlook how significant those words are today. Adonai is the God of Israel. This was true then, in this ...

Praying through the night: Do we heed the call for the divine appointment?

I learned long ago that when I wake in the middle of the night, even if it is to go down the hall, there is a reason why it happened at that specific time. Adonai (God) wakes us to spend time with us and so we can pray. For well over a decade, the waking throughout the night has been caused in part by hormones, I realize. Nonetheless, it is still a call to prayer and drawing near. No matter the reason we wake, it is perfect time to draw near to the Lord and to pray. The question is: Do we heed the call? And if we do, do we fall asleep during the prayer watch we were assigned? Sometimes, I think it's for a quick arrow prayer or popcorn prayer, short and simple.  Other times, I think God wants us to bring immediate, powerful prayer for an extended period of time. It's like much is riding on it, even if we have no clue what it is specifically. Waking in the middle of the night is always a divine appointment. Do we wake, roll over, check the clock and go back to sleep? Or do we add...

And then there was an intense afternoon

The last I blog journaled was on Friday. The moment I said what I said in two blog posts (journal entries), I looked at news coming out of Israel and that's when things got quiet intense for a while. I got together and sent texts with a couple of friends and fellow prayer warriors and we began to pray for Israel and everything that transpired.  I will not lie. It was an intense couple of hours watching the apps on our cells that allows us to see everything we want to see. But I was again reminded how powerful prayer is. Adonai answered our prayers (in which I am grafted in, so I am part of Israel, along with other Jews and Gentiles of the One New Man, see Ruth 1:16-17; Genesis 12:3; Isaiah 49:6; Ephesians 2; Genesis 22:18; Isaiah 56:7; Ephesians 1:22-23; Galatians 3:29; 2 Corinthians 5:17; Romans 9-11; etc. Let us keep praying for Israel. Prayer Exhaustion or Fatigue

Ever since my last journal entry, things have been intense, hard, and rapidly moving in Israel. Hence, it's been constant prayer asking for God to bless and protect His people and land, and to thwart all that attacks of Israel's enemies. The battle has been relentless and ongoing, physically and spiritually. The latter, though, is the most intense and can be the most draining and exhausting for a prayer warrior. It's tough being here and not being there to walk with them. And feeling helpless since we are so far away. I cannot imagine what it's like living in Israel right now. What I am experiencing is nothing. It's our obligation as their brothers and sisters to have their backs in every form of prayer. I won't lie. I never knew how prayer fatigue or exhaustion were possible when you put everything you can into prayer and do so for an extended period of time. But it's possible and real. I am feeling it. Sleep has been sketchy and I certainly haven't sle...

Praying for Israel

The counterattack from Iran has begun. Adonai, protect Israel. Guide them. Help their technology and military work well. 215 p.m.

164 days into the 2025 reading through the Bible in a year

2025 marks the second time I have read this specific plan for reading the Bible through in a year.  Thankfully, I have been able to keep up with the reading. (More on this later.) To Him be the glory.

Truth, lies, distraction, etc., in the news and social media

The news and social media are facts of lives in 2025. They both exist. And they are both faulty. And they both have some benefits. I find it interesting trying to pick my way through the truth, lies, deceptions, distractions, and manipulation.  Then to make matters worse, people that report things on the news and social media do so at different speeds. This only complicates matters, let's be honest. If someone reports on something before everyone else, it could be a lie or it very well could be truth. But the same goes. If something is reported on later, not taking the latest events into account that re happening real-time, then that reported information could appear false when it could be truthful. Sigh. It's a mess. And I thank God for prayer and His discernment. This is the only way to rightly handle the news and social media: Lots and lots of prayer. (Oy and aye.)

Nonstop news today (Israel and proof that God exists and they are His chosen people)

Goodness gracious. The news has been going nonstop today. My trusty sources in Israel are reporting the news constantly, and for that, I am grateful. After all, it helps me know what and how to pray. However, it also means constantly feeling on edge. Therefore, I am trying to look at the news every forty minutes or so, not more frequently. I figure the Lord knows what is going on and I can pray about what I heard last. I keep getting reports of possible drones and missiles being lobbed at Israel from Iran. (More nail biting and prayer.) So far, Adonai has swatted them all out of the air through use of His people and their military might. (Thank the Lord!) Never mind how Hezbollah has fired into Israel today, too. Watching this, and watching all the nations lob missiles and drones at Israel since October 07, 2023 is proof to me there is a God. Seriously. With how many missiles that have been fired into Israel, well over 30,000 the last I heard, we need to be honest here. The chances of ...

An Update (the reasons for this personal blog journal)

Today is the first time I journaled here on/in this blog journal since mid-March. The truth was, I had no idea it had been that long. I stopped because of a few different reasons. One being I didn't want to risk being taken wrongly. I didn't want to preach. I didn't want my beliefs to be a turn off. I also knew that sharing my personal thoughts could make me a target of ridicule. It's funny. The truth is, I really don't care what people think. After all, no one on this planet has a heaven or hell to offer me, as I do not them. But I remembered why I started this blog journal on July 23, 2024. There were a few reasons for that, too. I knew that I am not the only believer in Jesus/ Yeshua, and I thought that I wasn't the only one who struggled with living the best life possible in Him and understanding the Bible (The Word of God). I figured I would share my journey with anyone who read this blog and hoped you would share in your journey with me, as we are all on t...

God knows just what we need, when we need it

I think I am overwhelmed by so much going on. I signed up for this as a prayer warrior, and did so without hesitation (and even gladly). But that does not make it easy. Today is one of those days that it is hard. So I just saw movement in my peripheral vision and saw a tufted titmouse land in front of me as I journal from my study, facing the birdfeeder and woods in the back. I know. I should expect to see a bird near my birdfeeder, you might think. But, you don't understand. Where it landed, how it caught my eye and got my attention was not normal. Thus, I know God gave this to me as a shot in the arm, something to bring me comfort. Yesterday, before I realized that there was a protest that will be in a very special place near and dear to my heart on June 14, I saw a young, hungry raccoon in my backyard, in the daylight. Since it was small and looked maybe six months old, I knew that meant it was hungry. So I took some pictures, threw out some peanuts, and watched it eat and drink...

Israel and Iran

Last night, the operation of Israel starting the process of dismantling Iran's nuclear program began, and did so through airstrikes. (Imagine me biting all my nails. Not really, but it wasn't exactly a pleasant time as I had my sources come in throughout the evening and night, and am today.) Whenever I woke to pray, I glanced at the news to make sure Israel was okay. This happened multiple times. Then, when I woke this morning, I gave a sigh of relief and praised Adonai for doing what should not be a surprise to any of us, for taking care of His people. For fighting the battle for them. For guiding and protecting them. Prayer: Abba, take care of Your people. Take care of my family. Give them wisdom and show them Your love. Let them know that You are still God and they are still Your people. Let's remember and pray: Genesis 12:1-3. And let's pray ceaseless prayers for them.

Protests tomorrow

This week, we have heard about over 2,000 protests being set up in the US, after those in LA, to challenge our government, to riot, to cause civil unrest, to lead to another civil war.  The worst part is the No Kings Protests are saying that it is in the name of democracy and are using words to make it sound like they are good, when they are anything but. Just because you use words that are defined specifically in the dictionary, and try to assign to it new meanings, it does not make it legit, real, or right. Nor does this make things truthful. They are taking a word "Democracy" and are saying that they are for it.  When was the last time rioting was okay and acceptable? Never mind how this protest is saying that our president is an authoritarian. Again, clearly they have never read the dictionary. And they are assigning new definitions to that word. Hmm. Makes me think of some Bible verses that talk about this and there is a clear warning that God (Adonai) gives. Take a look...

What do you do when you do not know what to pray (when there's so much going on in the news)?

That's a very good question. I won't lie. I am struggling with this, and am in a big way at the moment. I'll admit that this is part of the reason why I am here again, doing journaling on this blog. I realize I am likely not the only one who is struggling in this area. Especially today. Why do I say that? It's because there's so much going on in the news. First, there are protests tomorrow (2,000+) all across the US. Then, Israel's operation against Iran that started last night and continues today. And a friend is on the road traveling.  For the last few days, there has been unrest and my soul has been sensing that we need to pray.  Then last night happened. I am just really stirred to grab hold of my Bible, to open it, and pray, pray, pray. To stand on His promises. To remember what He has told us that is to come and to be prepared. How do we get prepared? By being in the Word, doing what it says, and pray, pray, pray. To be engaged with Him. By drawing in. So ...

It's been a while

It has been a while since I journaled here on this blog journal, on this weblog (whatever you want to call it). I have been focusing on personal prayer and prayer journaling of the paper and pen variety. However, I am feeling more pulled to switch to this again. We shall see where the Lord leads on and with this blog journal.  This might be a new beginning of using this blog as my main personal journaling, prayer journaling, and journaling through the Word. (I sure hope so. This would sure streamline things. Stay tuned.

Gossip

When does processing events and feelings with fellow believers become gossip? Something to pray about...

Be careful... Listen to God and to the truth

Be careful. Should we only listen to God when we like what He says? Should we only listen to God when it is convenient? Should we only listen to God when we want? Should we only listen to God when He says what we want to hear? Be careful. Isn't this what we do? We seem to only listen when we want. What God says is truth. Why aren't we listening? Really listening? And when someone that walks with you, and beside you, and tries to listen to God and obey His Word (keep His mitzvot), shouldn't we fully listen to what they say? To take some time and let their words roll around? To pray about what they say? Even when we disagree? Even when we do not want to hear it? To make sure to ask God about the words? To get out of the emotion and really listen to the words and what they said?  Because God can speak through people. Are we listening? Shouldn't we be honest with ourselves and compare what they say to the Word of God? We need to be careful. God speaks to us directly and He ...

Stress and plans

Adonai woke me this morning with some revelations. I had a good night of sleep so He came through very clearly. I stress myself out by planning and trying to get things done by my own accord. My writing is proof of this..There is always so much to do, with my writing and with life. God told me this morning I am to live by His Word. I am to focus my thoughts in the things above (Colossians 3:1-2), take my thoughts captive (2 Corinthians 10:5-7), and think on these things (Philippians 4:8). I am to live by the fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:23-24). And most of all, I am to remain in Him and in His Word because I cannot do anything without Him (John 15:1-5). He said if I am stressed by anything, especially by my plans, then I haven't been doing those things and I need to look at my plans. Then He added to do a study of plans. I did a search of "plan" in the Bible. Most of the 205 times plan was listed was of: plant, plants, planting, and planted. The next most occurrences ...

Blah to blessings

I worked hard today cleaning the house for company who are allergic to cats. That requires a lot of work. Worth it. But still work. Needless to say, I have been exhausted since. Feeling blah because of it. Tweeked my back a little and wore myself out. So the best way to recover, apart from a good night of sleep, is through counting my blessings and giving glory to Adonai. I thank You, Lord, for the Grey kitty snuggling.  For a clean house This day Tea Swimming turtles Good friends My family Your direction  Your strength Your love Tomorrow Israel The US The Word

Tired

Here it is the end of the weekend, and I am more exhausted now than I was at the start of the weekend. Abba, help me sleep tonight and get refreshing rest. I can do all I need tomorrow because You are with me. You will help me to do what needs to be done. Thank You for this.

What He has done, March 16 recognition and praise

Adonai, You have done so much. Thank You. I sit here with a bit fluffy orange cat curled up on my lap. I am stuck and cannot move. You created this huge blessing in my life, Lord. Thank You for him. I hear birds begging for food. The blinds are closed. They know it is past time. More creation God has made for our pleasure. It is an honor to give them food and watch them. That our prayers are eternal. All of them. You made it this way. You hear and answer every prayer. You have given me the blessing of my husband and marriage.

Retroactive prayer?

I always wonder about retroactive prayer. Like if we did not pray now, and He knew we would, things would have been worse.

The things the Lord has done

The Lord has done good things. The Lord has done magnificent things. He has done miraculous things from our perspective, that are simple and easy to Him. When was the last time we stopped and thought about what He has done? When was the last time we took time to do so, and didn't rush this process of taking stock and recognizing all He has done in our lives and just in general over an extended, dedicated, period of time? When was the last time you shared what He has done? When was the last time you made the effort to do so? Have you made it your purpose to recognize and share what God has done? Do you do it on a daily basis? Especially in these end of days? Have you made recognizing and sharing what Adonai has done a regular habit? Have you made this an act of praise and worship? Have you recognized what He has done, both good and hard, on a daily basis and praised Him for all of it? Let us incorporate this into our lives. Every day. Recognize and share what He has done, the good a...

Shabbat or Sabbath: The most holy day

Today is Saturday. It is the seventh day of the week, and is the day of rest. It is the most holy day of the year. And it happens fifty-two times in a year. How is it the most holy day? And is it really? You might wonder. Look at Genesis 2:1-3. Shabbat is so important that God Himself (Adonai) did it. He set Himself as the example. He showed us how important it is. If God did it, the King of the Universe and Creator, the Most High and Eternal One, then do you think we might want to do the same?

Why #1

Why is it we really want, need, and know what You say to us to do, an we really want to do it, and even try to do it, but we end up not doing it (don't follow through or complete the task)? Prayer: Will You help me do what You want me to do?

Noises in the head

My brain, my head, can be noisy. Filled with things. Filled with thoughts. Filled doubt. Filled with fear/anxiety. Filled with second-guessing. Filled with things ought to be like this... Filled with challenges I, or others, face. Filled with the news. Filled with politics. I realize all of this is noise. Noise to keep me from the Father. Noise to keep me from doing what I should be doing. Noise to keep me from putting Him first and keeping Him first. And how do I stop all the noise? By praying (Philippians 4 6-8).  By remaining in the Word (John 15:1-15). By checking every thought against the Bible. Does it line up? By taking my thoughts captive (2 Corinthians 10:5-7). By listening to Him (Deuteronomy 6:3-6). (By focusing on Him and the Word and Colossians 3:1-2; Romans 12:1-2.) Prayer: Adonai, Abba, Lord will You help me to focus on You, to put You first, and stop the noise in my head?

When we do not hear God

Do you ever feel like the Lord is silent? Or at least quiet? Do we ever feel like we are missing something from Him? When we do not hear God, could it be that we are not fully listening? And that we are not doing so for an extended amount of time because we grow impatient or think we have something to do? Do we cut Him off by our minds wandering? By our wanting to go do something else we think is important (but really isn’t)? Could it be that we should listen to Him far more, all the time, than what we do? Could it be? Let me phrase this far more simply: Do we not hear God because we are not taking the time to fully listen? Then, there is this: Who said God has to answer us the moment we desire? He is not a puppet, and we certainly are not the puppet master. When was the last time you spent an hour doing nothing but trying to listen to God? How about a day? (Hmm. Isn’t this what Shabbat/Sabbath is for?) How about a weekend? When was the last time you went about your day and kept an ear...

Confessions of a Bible-nut

So I have another confession. I am a nut. With my favorite translation of the Bible. I am a walking storefront of my favorite version of the Bible. Want to see what possibilities there are? I have a thinline, medium print, large print, and giant print. The main Bible I have chosen, though, is the thinline, smaller print version because it is easy for me to carry and pace as I pray from it. It's also easy for me to carry it everywhere.

Listening to Adonai

I want to listen to God. It is too easy for me to say that I do not hear God. If I am not hearing Him, I need to make adjustments, and that's a fact.  Prayer: Lord, Adonai, God, Father, Eternal One, Holy One, help me listen. Teach me to do so. In the Bible I use, "listen" is mentioned 392 times. Hmm. That sounds pretty important to me.

Running ahead with the timelines (and everything else yesterday)

So I ran ahead with the timelines. This is a great idea. I might add to them over time. But, truthfully, the most important thing for me to do is be in the Word and pray, as I journal about each. Hence, this is what I shall do. Prayer: Forgive me, Lord. It was wrong of me. Help me remain in Your will. Topics: Your will; His will; idea; Be in the Word; Read the Word; Pray; Prayer; Confession; Remain.

Running ahead as a writer and prayer warrior (and helping Him out with ideas)

Adonai pointed out to me, again, that I have a problem. It is a temptation that usually leads to sin. I do it as a writer and even as a prayer warrior. A great idea pops into my head. I like it so much that I get excite and run ahead so I can get to it and do it. Since the idea comes to mind, it can only come from the Lord, right? In my enthusiasm to please Him, I forget something very important: To ask Him if this is what He really wants of me. I run ahead, with the best of intentions, wanting to please Him more than anything. What could go wrong? What's wrong with this? I have a good heart and intentions. Right? This is not good, though. If I fail to stop and ask if the idea really came from Him, then I am helping Him out. Or I act on my own accord. Both are fatal. Lesson learned (application): Stop. Slow down. There is nothing life or death here. I really can take the time and make sure I am hearing from Him, and if so, that I am hearing Him clearly. Prayer: Help me to slow down...

Listen: A main page

This is the main page for many of the blog posts that talk about "listen", "listening", hear, and hearing. These are in the order of the most important spiritually as far as listening (or I've tried to list them in this order anyway): https://coffeejournalingprayer.blogspot.com/2024/11/tv-noise.html https://coffeejournalingprayer.blogspot.com/2024/12/a-prayer-for-this-work-week.html https://coffeejournalingprayer.blogspot.com/2025/01/restlessness-and-noise-prayer.html https://coffeejournalingprayer.blogspot.com/2025/03/keep-his-mitzvot-commandments.html https://coffeejournalingprayer.blogspot.com/2025/03/do-not-be-silent-at-certain-times.html https://coffeejournalingprayer.blogspot.com/2025/03/why-is-it.html See also: https://coffeejournalingprayer.blogspot.com/2025/01/help-me-keep-my-focus-on-you-lord-prayer.html

Keep His mitzvot (commandments)

Throughout the Word, it says that we are to keep His mitzvot (His commandments). Do we? Do we really? Are we consciously, intentionally, purposefully trying to do so? Or are we just giving lip-service to that? Are we doing what He says? Are we doing what the Bible says? Are we obeying? Are we being obedient to every verse of the Word of God? Or do we just pick and choose? If we are not in the Scripture every single day, then how can we honestly say we are living all of His mitzvot? When we are not in the Word, it is easy to forget what it says or remember it incorrectly.  It is essential we are in the Bible every single day, throughout the day, so we can remember what it says and do it. Keeping His mitzvot has blessing, and not doing so has consequences. Look at Deuteronomy 4:40. When we keep His mitzvot, things may go well with us and might prolong our days in the land the Lord has given us. Exodus 15:26 mentioned how we are to diligently listen. I bet this helps us hear His mitzv...

Do not be silent (at certain times)

There are times to be silent, like when we are with the Father. We need to listen far more than we speak. We miss out on much when we fail to hush and listen. (Sidenote: And isn't it funny/sad how we can say then how we are concerned because we haven't heard from the Lord?) However, there are times when we must not remain silent. Psalm 25

Psalm 25: I read this chapter on November 13, 2024, Wednesday.  This is a good Psalm to read when you want to worship and get to know Adonai more. Some topics of this chapter: Adonai, Sin, Humble, Humility, Remember, Fear (Revere), Instruction, Direction, Guidance, Covenant, Lonely, Affliction, Enemies, Violence, Hatred, Refuge, Protection, Troubles, Protection, Wait, Redeem, Redemption, Israel, Troubles

Topics and chapters

This blog is where through reading, prayer, meditating (contemplation; ruminating with a heart and mind turned to the Eternal God), and journaling the very Word of God will be done chapter by chapter, topic by topic. Hence, these personal journal entries will be done at first in very short writings. But over time, they will all be updated and expanded. Therefore, you might want to read previous posts and glean even more about the chapter or topic.

Saved

Personal journaling note to myself: I have all of this blog saved in document form from November 2024 to today, to just before this journal entry.

Purim

Purim begins tonight at sundown. How should we observe it as Esther 9 says? By reading the book of Esther. See Esther 4:14 as well.

Do the right thing

No matter what... do the right thing. Do not be a fool (see the book of Proverbs). Do not do wrong. Even if it is hard... especially if it is hard, do the right thing. Be a person of integrity.

Disjointed

This blog journal could appear disjointed at times. Know that I will tie it all together in time. Also, this is what many of the "main Pages" are for, as they tie things together and bring order. Stay tuned.

My Recognition and Questions About Evil

The world keeps getting darker. Depravity is celebrated and revered. People think wickedness is a good thing and are prideful in doing and being evil. This is what we will see in the end of days. The Word describes this throughout the prophets and Revelation, even Matthew 24. I have heard it said before that evil has always existed in the world. That is true. It has. Evil, however, is deceptive. There are times evil wants to be quiet and remain under the wire (not seen, known or recognized). Then, there are times evil wants to be bold. It seems to me as though evil keeps getting more bold (boisterous; loud; in your face; out in plain sight). October 07, 2023 to today and everything Israel has gone through is proof of this. Evil is applauded by more and more and is considered good. And good is now considered evil. What does that sound like? (It sounds like Isaiah 5:20 to me.) It seems like people are rushing to do evil and act wickedly (Isaiah 59:7). On October 07, 2...

What is Truth?: The Scripture (Bible) is Truth

What is truth?  Let me start by saying that there is such thing as absolute truth. The Bible is absolute truth. The Scripture is the truth. It is eternal and is beyond this world. The Word is true and is truth, whether we believe in it or not. If we look to the world for truth, we are looking in the wrong place. No can truth be found in a person, thing, or circumstances. Truth can only be found in God, for He is Truth, and truth can only be found in His Word. Therefore, this is why every chapter of the Bible will have an index here in this blog journal. Every chapter of the Bible tells truth.

2023 Timeline

May: A day that changed my life forever. This was the most significant moment of my life. October 07, 2023: Hamas attacked Israel (committed atrocities; murder; rape; torture; etc.) and took hostages to Gaza.

An Introduction

~ Welcome Welcome to my personal blog journal. This is about several important truths in my life that I want to make more sense of and remember. Hence, this is why I have started this blog journal. I am a follower of Yeshua Messiah (Jesus the Savior) and am an avid reader and follower of the Word of Adonai (G-d; God). I try to read 100% of the Bible (Scripture; Word of G-d; Holy Bible) and no less. This includes both the Old and New Covenants (Testaments). {Note: I am sorry to use so many parentheses but I want us to be on the same page and want to make sure I am being clear.} ~ The End of Days: Eternity (Where are you headed?) The fact of the matter is I think we are living in the end of days (last days; the end times; the end of the world). Therefore, some truths must be learned, fast, for eternity is at stake (and where we go when we die). Never before has this been so paramount. ~ The Quickest Summary of This Blog Journal Where are we? How did we get here? What...

Personal journaling through the Word: The focus

I am going to now focus on personal journaling and prayer as I read through the Scripture (Bible; Word of God; The Torah). This was always my goal but it is moving to this primarily as I try to live the Word and do what He says, and share the journey.

Why is it

Why is it that we are so apt to realize we are not happy, peaceful, joyful, content, and fill in the blank, but we are so quick to avoid what we should be doing in order to rectify the problem? Why is it that we always want to live a life of purpose and/or meaning, but we are so quick to avoid what we should be doing in order to rectify the problem? Why is it that we choose our own way because we want to be independent and self-reliant and yet we are not living purposeful lives every moment? Why is it we choose noise over what really matters? (And the noise is: TV, games, reading a book, listening to a book or podcast, doing social media, etc.) Why is it we wonder why we are not where or whom we want to be? Why is it we want the easy way, when it leads to everything lesser? Why is it we only turn to the Lord, and/or His Word (the Scriptures; the Bible) when it is convenient? Why is it we say we believe and trust the Father but we make Him last, or certainly not first, most moments? Why...

Waking slowly

It has been years since I was in bed until 740 in the morning.  Today is destined to be a busy housecleaning day. So I decided to be kind to myself and do be lazy and wake slowly, which I never do. I realize I need it for my health. And who can't resist snuggling longer with a cat? And a husband?  Life is good. I have been listening to our windshield. Sunlight enters through the blinds.  The ceiling fan hums. Grey cat is warm and just buried her face on/in my shoulder.  What blessings. Thank You, Lord. You are here. Present. Working. Orange cat, claws clicking across vinyl plank floor: 'You alive?' He's checks on me and reminding me I owe him his snuggles, too. Guess I need to go make coffee and get in the Word and snuggle with Orange. Glory. You are so good, Adonai (God).

This day of rest, part 2

I got some coffee. Sinan the Orange found me right away and is warming me up as he is snuggled between my ankles again. And the crows that had been quiet are making a great deal of noise. The sunshine is kissing the trunks of the trees in back of us. And I still cannot believe how many trees in back of us held on to their leaves all winter. The water filters of the turtle tanks are also making a great deal of noise. I feel the warmth of the cat between my ankles. A cloud just moved over the sun so it got a little dark for a moment. Last night was the 7 planet parade where 7 lined up in a line. It's the last time that will happen until 2040. And it was the New Moon.  It is now Rosh Chodesh and the 1st day of Adar. I just realized something I have not done lately, and I cannot help but think, it is no wonder why I am so exhausted. I have not spent an extended period of time worshipping, praising, and thanking the Lord. I should probably rectify that. But first, I am feeling the pull ...

This day of rest

I cannot believe it is already March already. Never mind that it is March of the year 2025. Where does the time go? The last few months have been pretty busy. I am out of shape, have not been eating the best, have not been exercising like I should, and have been doing a great deal of counseling and support of friends (helping them be free in the Lord and have a deeper and active faith). This means it is rather easy to become exhausted without even realizing I was on my way to being so. This means a day of rest is something I do not take for granted. It is needed. Thoroughly. I took my husband to a cafe I discovered a couple of months ago. Today was out first opportunity to go. It's along a large river and is in a picturesque town. We have read our day's Bible reading and are not taking it easy as we finally have nice enough weather that we have our windows open and we are airing out the house, which is so thoroughly needed. Now we are taking it easy and husband is trying to tak...

Day of rest: A journaling prompt or a thought to ponder

When was the last time you took a day to rest? When was the last time you took a day of rest once a week? Have you ever?

Journaling My Prayers (a personal journal entry on January 28, 2025, Tues.)

I tend to think a little too much. My brain is always going, always working. This is why I journal. It helps me to quiet and focus my brain. And this is why I write my prayers. It makes sure I am far more inclined to remain in prayer and not get sidetracked. Yesterday, I began to form a "2025 Prayer Journal Planner" (PJP or 2025 PJP) for this specific reason. I have been using a pen and paper journal and have absolutely loved it and it has worked well. But there is a problem with it. I cannot use it easily in the middle of the night, when my husband and I are out and about, and so forth. This is actually quite limiting (which I had no idea until this morning). Through creating my PJP yesterday, I was able to begin to get everything on the page, and in one place, that I need to help my prayers flourish. And I was able to print a paper copy as I also have it saved to every digital device I own. Therefore, my prayer journal is accessible everywhere I go and at all times. Doing a...

Thank You for Divine Appointments

Glory! Thank You, Lord, for divine appointments to share the Good News and live Romans 11:14. Father, the seed has been planted. Water, fertilize, and grow the seed.

Help me remain, Lord (a prayer)

Father God, in John 15, You tell us to remain in You and in Your Word. Will You help me do so? Will You help me to remain focused on You and Your Word and not get sidetracked by the trappings of the world?

A prayer for quietness (even in the times it is busy and loud)

Lord, help me to remember that the sweet quietness I had with You this morning (and most mornings) does not need to end when I get thrust into matters of the world. Help me remember that even when the world is busy and loud, and even when I am, I can still meet You in the quietness and have the quietness. All it takes is remembering and seeking it in that moment (and in each moment).

Prayer and presence (a prayer)

God, help me remember that one of the most important aspects of prayer is being with You. It is seeking Your presence. It is being with You. It is being aware of You. It is spending time with You. Yes. Prayer is about presence. Help me be more present with You in this moment, and in the next, and every time I make (offer) a word of prayer or thanksgiving. Being with You is key. Seeking Your presence is what I will do for eternity. It is that important.

Living and doing Your Word (a prayer; heaven and hell)

You are my Rock, Refuge, Redeemer, and Strength. The importance of being in the Word is stressed repeatedly through reading the Bible. Do not let me lose sight of this, Adonai. Let this give me more of a fondness of Your Word. Your Word is a precious treasure. Help me not lose sight of this joy. Of the privilege it is that I can read and hear Your Word. That You give the opportunity to know Your Word and live it. Thank You. Let me not forget these things. Your Word brings and gives life. Eternal life to those who do what it says. Living Your Word prevents me from sin and being wicked. It prevents me from death and eternal judgment and fire. Living Your Word prevents me from going to hell (death) and gives me eternal life (heaven). Help me avoid what You say not to do. Help me be mindful of this. Help me not forget the entirety of the Bible. Help me learn, remember, and live 100% (the Old and New Testaments; all 66 books) and no less. Let me not give one Testament more consideration th...

Thank You for an amazing day

Abba, thank You for an amazing day already, and it is only 538 a.m. What will the rest of the day hold? (I grin.) Glory!

A prayer about getting more done (not)

You are God. You are the Most High. And You are my everything. I would be nothing and would have nothing without You. And I am abundant in wealth and treasure because of You, and it is the richest of all: That of eternal life. Help me remember that today, and every day for that matter, is not about doing more. It is not about getting more done. Rather, it is about making the moments count. It is about living for and with You. It is about being with You, serving You, pointing others to You and Yeshua (Jesus) Messiah, and bringing You glory. This is what matters most in every moment. It is all about You, not getting things done. No. I will not be lazy. But what I get done will be that which serves You and the kingdom, not myself or what I want. Let everything I do, let all I am, be Yours and for You. This is what matters. Tip about this prayer: This is a good prayer to read every morning (morning prayer). It is a good reminder about priorities and keeping the main thing the main thing.

Personal Journal Entry: January 27, 2025, Monday (about my new Prayer Journal Planner (PJP))

I woke in the middle of the night in severe pain. I slept funny and threw out my back. Needless to say, as I waited for my back to calm, I was able to pray and listen to the Lord. It never ceases to amaze me how God works. I say with a smile as I picture it and shake my head at the silliness. This meant I heard Him very clearly tell me to begin a Prayer Journal Planner (PJP), which is what I began to work on then and have been working on ever since (and it is not 12:42 p.m.) and is 138 pages so far for 2025 and is growing. He told me to do a digital journal, which I can use on my tablet. Nonetheless, I will still print it out as I go as well, as I do not want to lose anything. Stay tuned. I will share more information on this soon.

Thank You for Saving Us From Ourselves

Adonai, thank You for saving us from ourselves. Too often we can make things a lot harder on ourselves. However, You are so loving and kind that You prevent the worst from happening and allow just enough to get our attention and teach us a lesson to do things better.  Thank You.

Ruin (a prayer against; Psalm 1)

Eternal and Holy One, Psalm 1 tells how there is a best way for the righteous (it's being in the Torah and constant meditation on it every single day and in each moment).  But, there is also a way that leads to ruin. It's that of being wicked. And being wicked is being in continual sin and wrongdoing. Just reading that the way of the wicked leads to ruin is terrifying to me. I am not a fool to think that I couldn't possibly be wicked or follow a path that leads to ruin. I realize how I am always just one bad or poor choice away from this.  As someone who strives to be righteous, and remain righteous, I realize I am still a sinner. I do not want to me. I try not to be. I take active steps to try to avoid sin. But, I still sin.  Father God, will You let me know when I come near crossing the line to becoming wicked in any way. I do not even want to flirt with it. I do not want to follow any path that leads to ruin. Doing the right thing in hard. Doing the wrong thing is quit...

The Wicked and Sinners vs. the Righteous and Those in the Torah (a prayer; Psalm 1)

Abba, thank You for Your Word and for Psalm 1. After all, in Psalm 1, we learn the difference between the righteous and the wicked and the sinners. I do not want to be considered wicked in any way and I sure want to minimize how I am a sinner. Thank You for showing me through Psalm 1 how being in Your Torah and meditating on it day and night is a key to be fruitful, successful, avoid sin, stay/remain nourished, and not feel parched or droopy.  The wicked will not stand during the judgment. They will be judged and will not make it to heaven for eternity. Rather, they will face eternal fire. It's so easy to not do the right thing. It's also easy to excuse poor/wrong behavior and choices. As a sinner, I can so easily make the shift to become wicked.  Help me be guarded for this. I want eternal life. And I can guard against being wicked, and from sin, through remaining in You and in the Torah, through thinking on it night and day. And I need to do this every single day for the res...

Praying the Word (a prayer)

Thank You, Lord, for Your Word. Thank You that we can pray Your Word and it's the most effective way that we can pray. Please reveal to me how I can use Your Word to pray. Help me understand what You reveal to me and apply it to my prayers. To You be the glory.

An Explanation of Similar or Identical Prayers in This Blog Journal (a note to the reader)

Dear Precious Reader, There will be times that you will see similar prayers or identical prayers on this blog journal. There is a reason for this. I promise. It's because sometimes a different title and topics/subjects/labels will be helpful for when we are searching for something to pray about. The differences may be needed to make it so we can pray the best prayers when necessary. I hope this makes sense. Thank you. Have a very blessed day. Many prayers, Stacy

The Way You Work (a thank You)

Thank You, Lord, for the way You work. For how You tell me to pray. How even if I do not understand or know the specifics, but pray because You call me to, and You answer the prayer. So many times in my life with You, Abba, You have called me to pray. And it hasn't made sense. So I pray out of obedience and out of love. And You answer these prayers anyway. It's so remarkable how You do this and how You work. Thank You. Thank You for being faithful. Thank You for telling me to pray. Thank You for Your love and for answered prayer. The best part is when I pray out of faithfulness, and when it does not make sense, You answer in such remarkable and miraculous ways that cannot be anything but You. Thank You.

When You Don't Sleep: It's Often a Call to Pray (a prayer; a midnight call)

Adonai, thank You for teaching me long ago that when I cannot sleep, it's usually a call to pray.  A lot of the times, I do not know why. Very rarely do I know why at the time. However, it's later I hear of something, and learn of something, that lets me know why You called me to pray. Thank You for this. Help me continue to trust and pray, even when I am tired. Even when it does not make sense. Even when I do not know why. Thank You for helping me learn obedience to this midnight call. Because far more often than not, You let me know later why. And that means You have answered the prayer, even if I do not know how. Thank You for the way You work. And thank You for helping me be obedient to the call. To You be the glory. Yes. Thank You for the midnight call.

Answered Prayer (Thank You)

Thank You, Father, for answered prayer. Thank You for answering prayers before they are even prayed. To You be the glory. Truly, Adonai. Thank You.

When I Feel Tossed Around or Uneasy (Psalm 1)

Father God, help me not feel tossed around or uneasy. Help me not feel unsteady or unsure. Help me feel secure in You. I think I see the answer for this in this Psalm, and in Psalm 1. Here I read to meditate on the Torah night and day. This grows deep roots and prevents me from feeling like I am wilting or being tossed around or blown away by a wind. It says here if I do have the sensation of being blown away by the wind, it's because I am wicked and a sinner. Who is the wicked? One who does not do what God says. Psalm 1 tells the cure for the wicked: meditate on the Torah night and day. And this helps us dig deep roots that help us not feel parched, to produce fruit, be successful in all we do, and not be tossed around by the wind. How can I feel strong and stable? By being in the Torah and meditating on it. This also helps me remain righteous and not be or act like the wicked. Adonai, help me to remember this and told live Psalm 1 whenever I feel uneasy and unsteady, tossed aroun...

Success (a prayer; Psalm 1)

Lord, I want to be successful. Successful for Your kingdom. What does this look like? How is this achieved? Psalm 1 answers this question. Success is achieved by meditating (thinking on; pondering; contemplating) on Your Torah night and day. In order to do that, that means I need to be in Your Torah constantly so I can know what it says and do what it says as I meditate on it all the time. And what is the Torah? It is the first five books of Your Word: Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, and Deuteronomy. It is the Law and Books of Moses. But more importantly it is instruction for life (for living the best life). Success is found here in Your Torah and meditating on it night and day. Help me live this. I want to be a success for Your and Your kingdom. I want to be fruitful. I want to point to You and to Yeshua Messiah in all I do and bring You glory.

Thank You for Not Giving Up on Me

Thank You, Adonai, for not giving up on me. For being persistent in guiding and instructing me so I can be prepared and learn fully of Your purpose for me. The truth is, I am so much a sinner... And have gotten sidetracked so many times... That the only thing I deserve is death (Romans 6:23). But You have forgiven me of much. Oh, so much. Thank You. Thank You for not giving up on me, even when I have given up on myself so many times. Thank You for Your love. Thank You for the road we have taken and are taking. I am Your willing vessel. Use me. I just want to bring You glory and point everyone to Yeshua. Thank You.

Shabbat Shalom (a prayer for rest)

Read Genesis 2:1-3. Adonai, the day of rest, Shabbat (Sabbath), is something You did not just say to do, but You led by example and did it Yourself. And You did it on a specific day, which we call Saturday. You, God, did this and told us to do this. Thank You for this holy and sacred day to remember You, focus on You, and rest. This is Your day and it must be set apart. In fact, it is so holy and important that we are to honor and celebrate it fifty-two times per year. It is a day of no ordinary work. To You be the glory, honor, power, and praise.

A Prayer for Worship Service

Holy, Holy, Holy and Eternal One. You are the Name above all names. You are the Most High King. You are the Most High God. There is none like You. You alone are God and I praise You. Bless our worship tonight. May we draw close to You, confess our sins, repent, and learn from the message. Help us apply the message to our lives. Bring us unity as a Body and in You. We want to know You more and bring You the glory. We want to share the Good News and point everyone to Yeshua Messiah. Help us learn more about You and Him tonight. Help us to worship You in a deeper and more meaningful way this evening. Protect us from evil. Keep us from temptation and let us not sin.  Help us remain in You and in Your Word, and do what Your Word says. Help us live the purpose You have for us as a congregation and individually as believers. Help us trust in Your more this evening and draw nearer. Thank you for this opportunity to join together and worship You in one accord. Thank You for filling us with ...

A Prayer Warrior Prayer

God, You have asked me to be a prayer warrior and stand in the gap. Can You teach me (show me, instruct me) about what that means? I want to pray what You want me to pray and how You want me to pray. I am a blank canvas. Use me. I literally have on idea how to be a prayer warrior. Whenever I think I have an idea, I seem to stop praying, get sidetracked, and so forth. Therefore, I will do and pray whatever You say, whenever You tell me. Open my ears, mind, and heart, to hear You and each of your promptings for prayer.

Help Me Make My Life a Prayer (a prayer)

Abba, help me to pray so much...  And pray so often... In every moment... Throughout the day... Every single day... For the rest of my life... That my life is one constant, never-ending prayer (1 Thessalonians 5:17). Let this be my life's aim, goal, and purpose.

A Current Events Prayer for Israel 3

Adonai, the terrorists released the names of the hostages they are releasing tomorrow. They did not fulfill the obligations of the ceasefire agreement. Then, to make matters worse, one of the four is someone who did not survive (all four were to be alive). Lord... Help. Comfort Your people (Isaiah 40). Comfort the families. Help the hostages that are being released. There are so many gut-wrenching things here... so many bad possibilities. But, You are still God and are in control. We trust You. None of this is a surprise to You. Help Your people. Help these families and loved ones. Help these hostages. Show how You are God through this, Lord. Let there be no doubt.

When Things Happen (a prayer about challenges)

Father God, I needed to go to my hair appointment, which had been delayed once as I have been ill. I am still not feeling the best but wanted to go and get that done. It would make me feel better. The battery in my car is dead. This is a head-scratcher. I also just heard some bad news about the hostage release. And I realize I still am not over this illness. Things are happening and they are not great happenstances. Ugh. Help, Lord. But I trust You. There are reasons for all of this. Be glorified through these challenges.

Advice and Wisdom (a prayer)

Holy One, help me to not trust in human advice but to trust in Your wisdom, prompting, leading (direction; guidance) (Psalm 20:8). Help me seek Your wisdom from above (James 3) and avoid the advice or wisdom of earth or from the enemy. Advice and wisdom from anyone but You can be biased and faulty. Help me to turn to You and Your Word first for answers. And when I get answers from You and Your Word, help me to do what You say. If I still feel unsure, then help me seek a constant Bible-focused, prayerful, and biblical-living person of God to make sure I am correct in my understanding. After all, I need to be very careful whom and what I allow to speak into my life. If it does not match You and what You say, I shall not do it. I want to seek your wisdom above all others.
