Shabbat Shalom (a prayer for rest)

Read Genesis 2:1-3.

Adonai, the day of rest, Shabbat (Sabbath), is something You did not just say to do, but You led by example and did it Yourself.

And You did it on a specific day, which we call Saturday.

You, God, did this and told us to do this.

Thank You for this holy and sacred day to remember You, focus on You, and rest. This is Your day and it must be set apart. In fact, it is so holy and important that we are to honor and celebrate it fifty-two times per year.

It is a day of no ordinary work.

To You be the glory, honor, power, and praise.
