Running ahead as a writer and prayer warrior (and helping Him out with ideas)

Adonai pointed out to me, again, that I have a problem.

It is a temptation that usually leads to sin. I do it as a writer and even as a prayer warrior.

A great idea pops into my head. I like it so much that I get excite and run ahead so I can get to it and do it.

Since the idea comes to mind, it can only come from the Lord, right?

In my enthusiasm to please Him, I forget something very important: To ask Him if this is what He really wants of me.

I run ahead, with the best of intentions, wanting to please Him more than anything.

What could go wrong? What's wrong with this? I have a good heart and intentions. Right?

This is not good, though. If I fail to stop and ask if the idea really came from Him, then I am helping Him out. Or I act on my own accord. Both are fatal.

Lesson learned (application): Stop. Slow down. There is nothing life or death here. I really can take the time and make sure I am hearing from Him, and if so, that I am hearing Him clearly.

Prayer: Help me to slow down and listen (and keep doing so). To pray first, through, and after. Only Your will be done. To You alone be the glory.
