Journaling My Prayers (a personal journal entry on January 28, 2025, Tues.)
I tend to think a little too much. My brain is always going, always working. This is why I journal. It helps me to quiet and focus my brain. And this is why I write my prayers. It makes sure I am far more inclined to remain in prayer and not get sidetracked.
Yesterday, I began to form a "2025 Prayer Journal Planner" (PJP or 2025 PJP) for this specific reason.
I have been using a pen and paper journal and have absolutely loved it and it has worked well. But there is a problem with it. I cannot use it easily in the middle of the night, when my husband and I are out and about, and so forth. This is actually quite limiting (which I had no idea until this morning).
Through creating my PJP yesterday, I was able to begin to get everything on the page, and in one place, that I need to help my prayers flourish. And I was able to print a paper copy as I also have it saved to every digital device I own. Therefore, my prayer journal is accessible everywhere I go and at all times.
Doing a digital prayer journal also means I do not have to get out of bed so I can sneak out and not disturb my husband as I do the pen and paper journaling and need a light on so I can see.
Hence, this morning, I stayed in bed. I was able to begin praying on the page and not just in my head. Which meant I was able to write down the incredible things I usually forget by the time I get to my recliner and handwrite. I was able to pray and have special time with God before my feet ever hit the floor. (Glory!) And this meant I had some very special time with the Lord and started my day off in the best possible way.
Needless to say, I began my day with prayer and closeness with God.
Glory!
