Room Spray (Refreshener) and Perfume in Driftwood Sea Spray Recipe and Story
I am in the process of using up store-bought, not good for you products. This includes some room sprays to make the house smell good. And I opened up my last package of one of these and found a scent I had never smelled before. It's the best scent I have ever smelled in my life. It's called Driftwood Sea Spray.
It's so good that I had to recreate it immediately while I still had the scent to make sure I match it. I admit I have not done much with fragrance. I was a little intimidated by it. But then I realized that aromas are like foods. One you taste, one you smell. I can do the recipe and food thing, so surely I can figure out how to do the smell thing.
I quickly did some research and figured out how to attempt to recreate the scent that I love. It's funny, one of the essential oil blog gals mentioned how if a smell is good enough for a room, you can use it for a perfume or body spray, and vice versa. Well, I like this scent so much that I determined I would use it on my body as well.
Well, I came close to the original scent, and my house and body are grateful.
Driftwood Sea Spray Room Spray (and Body Spray):
8-ounce spray bottle
6-ounces witch hazel
2-ounces water
14 drops sandalwood essential oil
10 drops bergamot essential oil
10 drops jasmine essential oil
4 drops lavender essential oil
2 drops lemon essential oil
I spray the room, furniture, bedding, towels, shower curtains, jackets, caroet and rugs, myself, etc. with this spray once a day (or more if there's guests) and they all smell fresh and nice.
This spray also works really well in the room with the litter box. I do three sprays and it's good. A bottle of this lasts two to three weeks in this house.
The combination of scents, by the way, are good for relaxation and sleep. They make me feel calm and content.
Yep. This is my most favorite scent. Ever.
I hope you enjoy.
