Quoting Verses on This Blog Journal (The Lazy and Easy Path)

You will find that oftentimes I will not write out verses in this blog journal. I might paraphrase some of the verse, but not always. There is a reason.

I think we have become lazy in our trusting (faith; believing) of Yeshua (Jesus).

And we want the fast or easy way. We do this so we can save time so we can move onto what we really want to be doing and that which we say we ought to be doing. But we forget to stop and ask the most important question of all, at all times, in all circumstances:

God, what is Your will?

What do You want here?

This takes time. Oftentime,  a second or two. But, if we are honest, we would rather get to what we want to do.

This means we really are seeking the wide road or path that leads to destruction, not the narrow path that takes us to the narrow gate that leads to eternal life. (Matthew 7:13-14).

We want  fast, easy, palatable, and fun faith and walk.

We do not want to do the work and put in the time.

We want things our way and how we want them.

We want to define how to live according to the Bible and not listen to what God really says.

Hence, we do not open the Bible for ourselves and read the full and proper context.

And we take what humans say as gospel and trust what they say is correct and accurate. This too is lazy.

What God says, and says in His Word, is frankly the only thing that matters... not what we think, prefer, or want. What God says in His Word, not what any human says, matters. Humans are finite and sinful. We need to listen to God, not people. What He says is the only thing that matters. And we hear from Him most accurately in proper context of His Word. After all, our eternity is always at stake. Always.

So we need to look at every verse for ourselves, and try to read at least the chapter before, the chapter of, and the chapter thereafter the verse and make sure we are thinking the verse, knowing it, and applying it in context and rightly.

And we must read 100% of the Bible, and live 100% of it. We cannot ignore parts of the Bible and say it no longer applies. God has never said to stop following those portions. Not once.

And we need to be looking up verses (in proper context) in our own physical Bibles, not on a phone or tablet.

So look up every verse, within context, anyone ever quotes, and make sure you have proper understanding.

Yes. All this takes time. But if we are truly those who trust in and follow Yeshua, we know that we are to put Him first and truly make Him the priority (Matthew 6:33), not just offer the words. Eternity is at stake.

To do anything else is easy and lazy and will lead us to the road of destruction (hell) and we will not be going to heaven as we want.

Choose this day to read the Word of God for yourself, and on a yearly basis, and then do what it says.

After all, Yeshua never chose the easy way. He wasn't assigned the easy way. What part of, "Take up your cross daily," do we not understand (Luke 9:23)?

I will not quote verses. It is your responsibility to look all of them up with full and proper context and make sure I am not in err... and learn it, know it, and live it yourself.
